Answer to Question 1

B
Hospice services are designed to provide support to dying people and their families. Not everyone who has a cancer diagnosis (response A) is dying; therefore, hospice care may not be appropriate. Response C, acute exacerbation of a chronic disease process, does not meet the criteria for hospice care. Lack of family support (response D) also does not qualify.

Answer to Question 2

C
Counting backward requires concentration and attentiveness to the task, along with calculation ability. This is not a test of memory (response B), perception (response A), or problem-solving ability (response D).
