Answer to Question 1

C
Vitamin D is the only vitamin that the body can produce naturallyif there is enough exposure to the sun. Few people, and especially few older adults, who may have lost some mobility and rarely leave the house or nursing home, have enough sun exposure, and vitamin D occurs naturally in very few foods, so supplements or foods fortified with vitamin D may be necessary. Vitamins C, B6, and A cannot be made by the body naturally and must be ingested, preferably in food or by taking vitamins supplements.

Answer to Question 2

A
Epistaxis, or nosebleed, can be a sign that an older person's blood pressure is elevated, causing the fragile blood vessels in the nasal mucosa to rupture. Neck stiffness, excessive tearing, and gum inflammation are symptoms of potential problems but not related to hypertension.
