Use chemical agents to block pleasurable effects of alcohol or craving:
- Disulfiram (Antabuse) to cause negative physical effects if the person drinks.
- Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), such as Prozac.
- Drugs that mimic dopamine to block pleasurable effects.
