During prehistoric times, why did diseases such as smallpox and measles not spread rapidly?
 
  A) People had developed immunity to certain diseases.
  B) People lived in small communities and/or had nomadic lifestyles.
  C) People didn't live long enough to contract those diseases.
  D) People ate healthy diets that prevented those and other diseases.
