Answer: 1. Natural methods are free and involve no pills or devices. However, the risk for an unplanned pregnancy is often higher, and there is no protection from STIs.
2. Hormonal methods deliver hormones that stop ovulation. These methods have lower failure rates than natural methods but are often costly and may have side effects.
3. Barrier methods prevent sperm from reaching an egg. Some of these offer protection from STIs as well but they require using a device.
4. Surgical methods deliver permanent protection from unplanned pregnancy but do not protect from STIs.
