 Don't be embarrassed if you need to ask for a name a second time.
 Compliment.
 Offer comments about a situation.
 Keep your door open.
 Make an effort to get to know people, stay back and talk to classmates, join groups.
 Get to know the people in charge who could help you connect to others around you
Ways to maintain friendships:
 Understand that you and your old friends are going through changes.
 Avoid dominating a conversation with too much information about your new friends and activities.
 Keep in touch.
 Don't be afraid to re-connect if you have lost touch for some time.
