 She can avoid drinking to get drunk by drinking moderately, eating before, during, and after drinking, alternating between drinking alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, and avoiding drinking games.
 She can make a pact with a friend to stay together during the night.
 She can make arrangements ahead of time for getting home if she plans to drink.
 She can refuse to accept a drink from a stranger.
 She can remember the signs of alcohol poisoning and be prepared to get help if someone is exhibiting those signs.
