Answer to Question 1

Answer: When the anxiety is amplified to a degree that makes a person extremely nervous and fearful of having their bodies judged by others, it becomes a severe disorder. Psychologists have developed a 12-point scale to help understand the severity of this disorder, with people at the higher end of the scale more likely to experience consequences such as social isolation or extreme self-criticism.

Answer to Question 2

Answer: Eating disorders refer to a group of mental disorders including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge-eating disorder characterized by physiological and psychological disturbances in appetite and food intake. Disordered eating refers to a range of unhealthful eating habits in which food is used primarily to deal with emotional issues. It does not warrant a diagnosis of a specific eating disorder.
