Simple random - select from a sampling frame using a pure random process. Systematic - select from a sampling frame using a sampling interval. Stratified - select randomly from multiple sampling frames that are preset categories in the population. Cluster - multiple samples, first randomly select clusters, then randomly select elements
with each cluster.
