Based on precipitation, which climate type would you assign to the
  western U.S.? Which climate type would you assign to the eastern U.S.? What will be an ideal response?

Answer to Question 1

Wheat, corn, soybeans, and cotton.

Answer to Question 2

a. Western U.S.
Arid to semiarid except along the OR and WA coasts where it is humid to tropical humid.
b. Eastern U.S.
Sub-humid to tropical humid.
