A teacher starts her lesson by saying, We've gotten really good at subtracting, but now I'm stuck. I had thirty-two stickers, as she writes 32 on the chalkboard, but I gave eighteen of them away, and she wrote 18 on the board under the 32 . I can't figure out how many I have left, because the eight is bigger than the two. What am I going to do?
