Answer to Question 1

ANS: A
In VA support, the venous cannulas are placed in the same locations as with VV support with the arterial cannula inserted into the aorta or either femoral artery.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: A

The activated clotting time (ACT) is most of-ten used as the primary test for anticoagulation at the bedside. It is tightly attached to the skin below it, so it compensates for the increased area by wrinkling. This happens to the hands and feet because they have the thickest layer of dead keratin cells.
