Answer to Question 1

D

Answer to Question 2

B
Feedback:
The older person will find that he or she needs more light for reading because the pupils cannot adapt as well. As a rule, illumination (foot-candle level) must double for each added 13 years of age beyond 40 . Clients should clean eyeglasses daily with a soft, dry cloth and avoid using paper products because they may scratch the lenses. Night blindness also increases with age and a night light in the client's room helps prevent injury. The nurse should encourage the client to let people know if speech is not heard. Sometimes, using different words to communicate the same message can be helpful.

People who have myopia, or nearsightedness, are not able to see objects at a distance but only up close. It occurs when the cornea is either curved too steeply, the eye is too long, or both. This condition is progressive and worsens with time. More than 100 million people in the United States are nearsighted, but only 20% of those are born with the condition. Diet, eye exercise, drug therapy, and corrective lenses can all help manage nearsightedness.
