Answer to Question 1

B

Answer to Question 2

D
Feedback:
The nurse should teach the use of short crutches so that the client can practice and build strength while still in bed. Performing passive range-of-motion exercises and assisting in exercising the joints in the body will not help a client who has to use crutches. The nurse should teach the client exercises for strengthening and conditioning the upper body. The nurse can teach the client appropriate crutch-walking gaits after the client is well enough to move out of bed.
