Answer to Question 1

B
Feedback:
Inflation of the balloon of the catheter before catheterization is done to detect any leaks or a nonfunctioning balloon. To keep the catheter in place, the balloon is inserted in a deflated state and inflated after it reaches the urinary bladder. To help the catheter's advancement into the urethra, it is inserted in a deflated state and not an inflated state. The catheter does not need to be flushed and cleaned with water, because the catheter is already sterilized before packaging.

Answer to Question 2

B, C, E
Feedback:
Galactosemia is a genetic disorder in which the newborn is incapable of metabolizing galactose; thus, galactose builds up in the body and causes vomiting, diarrhea, jaundice, and mental retardation. Early diagnosis and dietary management can help prevent mental retardation.
