Answer to Question 1

B
Feedback:
The tooth's center is the pulp cavity (pulp chamber). The pulp contains many nerve endings and blood vessels, which enter through the roots (via the root canal) from the tooth sockets. When tooth decay is so advanced that it permanently damages the pulp, a root canal procedure or removal of the tooth (extraction) is required. The crown is the enamel-covered part of the tooth visible in the mouth. The root of the tooth is in the bony socket. Beneath the enamel and the cement is a hard bonelike substance called dentin, which is the bulk of tooth material.

Answer to Question 2

C
Feedback:
Because the GI tract is open to the outside, and because nonsterile material is introduced into it (food), it is not considered to be sterile. Surgical asepsis is considered a sterile technique. Medical asepsis is considered clean technique.
