Answer to Question 1

ANS: B
The three types of bone marrow transplants are allogeneic, autologous, and T celldepleted marrow. Allogeneic transplants occur when the donor is HLA compatible with the recipient. Autologous transplants occur when the donor is the recipient. A T celldepleted transplant occurs when the mature T lymphocytes are removed from donor marrow before being infused into the recipient.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: F
People with HIV or HBV (hepatitis B virus) are not barred from receiving an allograft, but incidences of graft failure are high in immunocompromised patients with HIV.
