Answer to Question 1

B
Severely depressed patients have anergia (little mental or physical energy) and are readily fatigued. Psychomotor retardation also takes its toll. After 2 hours of activity, the patient may be simply too tired to gain anything from a therapy group. Fatigue can also worsen irritability and depression. The patient should be allowed to rest at intervals and have therapy scheduled later in the day.

Answer to Question 2

D
This behavior is frequently seen when a depressed individual has made the decision to commit suicide. The other options ignore this important sign.
