Clients with eating disorders set themselves apart from others with their unique stances toward food and eating. They obtain secondary gains related to feeling special. Being in a group with others with similar problems gives a safe place to disclose while preventing secondary gains asso-ciated with being different. 1. This is not the goal of a therapy group. 3. Clients need to focus on their own issues. 4. This is not related to the purpose of the therapy group.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: 1
The self-starvation of the client with anorexia nervosa produces excessive weight loss. The other options are more often found in clients with bulimia nervosa.
