Answer to Question 1

ANS: 3
Self-evaluation of responses to clients will reveal whether the nurse is responding with objectivity versus subjectivity, acceptance or rejection, calmly or with anger, with sympathy or anxiety, etc. 1. The goal is not to maintain distance for client problems, but to remain objective about them. 2. This is not an expected outcome of such a review. 4. The purpose of a self-evaluation is to recog-nize the nurse's responses, not to maintain boundaries.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: 4
Excessively demanding clients, aggressive or sexually inappropriate clients, or clients with unac-ceptable personal habits are often labeled difficult and produce feelings of frustration, anger, or fear in nurses working with them. The other behaviors and characteristics listed usually do not incite strong negative feelings among nurses or result in labeling.
