a. Progress report: updates management on the progress of a specific. Sometimes they are submitted regularly; sometimes they are occasionally requested by management.
b. Briefings and white papers: present gathered facts in a straightforward and impartial way. These documents include: a summary of the facts, a discussion of the importance of these facts, and a forecast about the future importance of the facts.
c. Laboratory report: summarizes activities in the laboratory. Like briefings, sometimes they are submitted regularly and sometimes occasionally.
d. Incident report: describes an event, usually an accident or irregular occurrence, and says what has been done to correct the problem.

Answer to Question 2

a. Translate the text: If documentation is being sent to a place where another language is spoken, you should have it translated.
b. Use basic English: If the documentation is being sent to a place where English is not the primary language, avoid using needlessly complex language or jargon.
c. Check meanings of names and slogans: Names or slogans may not translate well to other languages. Check with people familiar with the language to avoid mistranslation issues.
