Answer to Question 1

The selection of superior dams and sires is made more convenient and accurate through computer-kept production records of progeny. Sires for artificial insemination can be matched with dams for embryo transfer through the use of computers. Herd improvement can be accomplished more quickly through computer-aided selection of animals.
