Answer to Question 1

There are still arguments as to just how many plants are needed to provide fresh air to a room. Some
believe that one large plant, such as an 8-10 inch potted Dracaena, is perfect for a 100 square foot
office. Others argue that it would take three times that figure to compensate for lack of air replacement
in a new office space with fresh paint and carpet. Some research states that the presence of plants
indoors does not have much to do with the overall improvement of indoor air quality because
experiments have worked with controlled spaces more than actual offices.
