The pistil produces eggs that are fertilized by the pollen produced in the stamen. The pollen is usually taken from the anther to the stigma by insects, the wind, or animals.

Answer to Question 2

Clay has a low intake rate and a high retention rate. Sandy soil has a high intake rate and a low retention rate.
