Answer to Question 1

Cheese is made by exposing milk to certain bacterial fermentation or by treating it with enzymes. Both
methods are designed to coagulate some of the proteins found in milk.

Answer to Question 2

Soybeans, peanuts, and palm nuts are crushed or ground and heated. The oil is extracted by using
solvents. Once it is extracted, it is then purified for food and industrial uses and the meal is dried and
ground and is used mostly for livestock feed. Other crops that are rich in vegetable oils include
cottonseed, rape, coconuts, olives and corn. These oils are used in such products as dressings, coffee
creamers, and shortening. Also, they are used in the manufacture of paints, lacquers, and plastics.
