Answer to Question 1

Holes for fertilizer are made using a one-inch steel stake placed in concentric circles starting about
halfway out from the trunk and the drip line.

Answer to Question 2

To stake a tree, drive a wooden pole or metal post into the ground near the plant and tie the upper part
of the plant to it with rope or wire. Guying is a form of staking, and it is accomplished by tying a tree
to two to four stakes with wire or rope.
