As the circulating nurse, in which position would you place a client for pelvic surgery?
 
  1. supine
  2. Trendelenburg
  3. lithotomy
  4. prone

Question 2

Your client asks to keep her full set of dentures in place until the last minute before surgery because her husband has never seen her without her dentures. She also wants them replaced before her husband sees her postoperatively. What should you do?
 
  1. Tell her that they have to come out no matter what.
  2. Leave the dentures in, label a denture cup, tell the client to place her dentures in the cup while she is in the holding area, and document what you have done on the preoperative checklist.
  3. Leave the client's dentures in place.
  4. Report the request to the anesthesiologist, inform the circulating nurse, provide a labeled denture cup, and record the information on the preoperative checklist.
