Answer to Question 1

D
Lifespan considerations that occur with the elderly include decreased immune response; decreased cardiac and respiratory reserve; slower cognitive processing; and decreased visual acuity and hearing.

Answer to Question 2

C
The process of coping ineffectively with stressors is referred to as maladaptation. A crisis occurs when the individual's usual coping mechanisms are no longer effective. Anxiety is a vague, nonspecific, uncomfortable, subjective response as the result of a perceived or actual threat to one's biologic, psychological, or social integrity. Eustress is a type of stress that results in positive outcomes.
