Answer to Question 1

D
Feedback:
Infections are often transmitted to elderly clients through equipment reservoirs such as indwelling urinary catheters, humidifiers, and oxygen equipment, or through incisional sites such as those for intravenous tubing, parenteral nutrition, or tube feedings. Use of proper aseptic techniques is essential to prevent the introduction of microorganisms. Bath blankets, face shields, and tables are not pieces of equipment that commonly transmits infections to elderly clients.

Answer to Question 2

B
Feedback:
The nurse can be charged with slander, which is a character attack uttered orally in the presence of others. Libel includes damaging statements written and read by others. The description is also not appropriate for false imprisonment. Slander is considered to be an intentional tort.
