Rationale 1: The diabetic client is at greatest risk for infection because diabetes lowers the client's immune response, as well as because of her age. As we age, immune response declines. The 24-year-old and the CEO of the bank would be at lowest risk, while the 6-year-old would be at greater risk because younger people have reduced immune response due to lack of exposure to allow development of antigens.
