Answer to Question 1

ANS: 4
Transpersonal communication is interaction that occurs within a person's spiritual domain. Many persons use prayer, meditation, guided reflection, religious rituals, or other means to communi-cate with their higher power. Intrapersonal communication, self-talk or self-instruction provides a mental rehearsal for difficult tasks or situations so individuals are able to deal with them more effectively. Interpersonal communication is one-to-one interaction between the nurse and another person that often occurs face to face while nonverbal communication includes all five senses and everything that does not involve the spoken or written word.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: 1
Nurses who develop good critical thinking skills make the best communicators. The remaining options identify components of good communication.
