Answer to Question 1

ANS: A
Capillary leak syndrome is a serious complication of IL-2. Plasma proteins and fluid leak into ex-travascular spaces, resulting in a loss of vascular tone, which in turn reduces blood pressure and, 2 to 12 hours after administration, a decrease in perfusion to body organs. Patients with signifi-cant cardiac, pulmonary, renal, hepatic, or central nervous system (CNS) impairment related to use of IL-2 require very close monitoring.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: D
The duration for the vaccine when administered to a child 2 months to 7 years of age is 10 years.
