Sucralfate is a cryoprotective drug. These drugs form a thick coating that covers an ulcer to pro-tect the open sore from further damage and allow healing to occur. Histamine blockers decrease secretion of gastric acids. Proton pump inhibitors block secretion of gastric acids. Antibiotics are used to treat H. pylori infections.
