Answer to Question 1

C
If infection is unresponsive to empirical therapy, cultures must be obtained to confirm the diagnosis and rule out resistant organisms. This should be done before changing treatment.

Answer to Question 2

D
Ethambutol can cause changes in vision, including red-green color blindness. It should be taken with food. It may be taken by patients with renal impairment with adjustment of doses.
