The refrigerant R-22 in a system component has a pressure of 70 psig and a temperature of 50F. Is it saturated, superheated, or subcooled?

Answer to Question 1

R-22 at 70 psig is saturated at just over 40F. Since 50F is greater than 40F, this refrigerant is superheated.

Answer to Question 2

60 cubic feet x 950 BTU/cubic foot = 57,000 BTUs per hour
