Why might customers complain about their heat pump systems being cold and drafty?

Determine the refrigeration effect of the following system. The liquid entering the evaporator has an enthalpy of 64 Btu/lb and the vapor leaving the evaporator has an enthalpy of 121 Btu/lb.

Answer to Question 1

The supply air temperature is lower than the air of warm air furnaces. Heat pump registers should be placed where the supply air does not blow directly on the people in the house.

Answer to Question 2

121 BTU/lb  64 BTU/lb = 57 BTU/lb
