Answer to Question 1

Number of cells = 12 V/0.5 V/cell = 24 cells connected in series.

Answer to Question 2

A tidal barrage power system consists of a dam that stretches across an estuary, harbor or river that connects to the ocean. When the tides rises, sluice gates open to allow the tidal flow to move through tunnels to fill the area behind the dam. The flowing water produces electricity by spinning a turbine and generator. When the tide reaches its highest level, the gates close capturing the water behind the dam. As the tide drops, water can again flow through the tunnels and produce electricity.

Though Candida and Aspergillus species are the most common fungal pathogens causing invasive fungal disease in the immunocompromised, infections due to previously uncommon hyaline and dematiaceous filamentous fungi are occurring more often today. Rare fungal infections, once accurately diagnosed, may require surgical debridement, immunotherapy, and newer antifungals used singly or in combination with older antifungals, on a case-by-case basis.
