Answer to Question 1

The main parts include the production well, heat exchanger, steam turbine, alternator (generator), condenser, cooling tower and an injection well.

The binary plant generally operates with an intermediate temperature resource, so the working fluid is not water but a substance with a lower boiling point. The hot water from the resource goes through a heat exchanger and is returned to the reservoir. turbine runs on the working fluid in a closed loop, so the turbine is exposed only to clean material. Otherwise, the operation is the same as the dry steam plant described in question 11.

Answer to Question 2

The main parts of the dam are the reservoir, the dam itself, the penstock with inlet gates, and the turbine whose shaft drives an electrical generator. Electrical energy is produced by converting the energy in the moving water to mechanical power and that in turn is used to spin the generator.
