This statement is not true. Neutron stars are not necessarily known to absorb neutrinos, the light, non-charged particles produced in some nuclear reactions. Instead, they are known to emit neutrinos as electrons and protons fuse to form neutrons and an electron neutrino.

a. Weber first claimed to detect gravitational waves in 1968, but his experiment was not confirmed.
