Describe the differences between metacognition and self-regulation.
Metagcognition refers to a human's awareness of his/her cognitive strengths and weaknesses and the
ability to think about how we are thinking. Self-regulation is the act of taking deliberate control over
cognitive activities and modifying the way a person is currently thinking about something.

What are Gardner's assertions about the seven basic intelligences?
Gardner asserts that: (a) all persons possess all seven intelligences; (b) people are capable of developing
each to an adequate level of competency; (c) intelligences can work together in complex ways; and, (d)
there are many ways to be intelligent within each category.
