Monique has been referred for evaluation for ADHD. How will her parents and teachers provide formal input for evaluation in the ADHD identification process? Why is their input important?

ANSWER: Answers should address the fact that identification of children with ADHD require input from persons who know the child well in a variety of settings and can speak to how the disabilities affects behavioral, social, emotional, and academic performance. Parents and teachers are well suited to provide this sort of observation. Rating scales such as the Conners-3 are used to collect data that can be used for diagnosis.
