Answer to Question 1

If Na and K are decreased d/t diarrhea, simply include foods high in K and add salt to the diet. Salt substitute or Lite-Salt would help if fruits and vegetables could not be tolerated.

Answer to Question 2

I have seen diets very high in fruit juice, liquids, caffeine, and concentrated sweets present problems for some individuals. These items should be eaten as tolerated.
