Plantains: very similar to a banana but larger and starchy; frequently used in cooking with other foods.

Yucca: a starchy edible root vegetable, classified as cassava.

Chick Peas: a bushy plant of the pea family with short hairy pods.

Yams: like a sweet potato, usually larger.

Arroz con qui: rice and black beans.

Packed cells: whole blood is centrifuged to remove a certain percentage of the cells.

Abdominal tap: a needle is inserted into the abdominal cavity and aspirated to determine if any blood is present.

Perforated ulcer: an ulcer which permeates the entire thickness of the part, as the foot or intestine.
