1 . Offer her recognition for her determination to be successful and encourage this determination.
2 . Point out her favorable results and accomplishments. Remind her that this demonstrates her ability to succeed.
3 . Inform her of support groups that will encourage her.
4 . Ask if her family was supportive and build on a positive response. Offer to talk to them if a negative response is received.
5 . Provide her with encouraging stories of past successful cases.

Answer to Question 2

BUN: elevated 2o to dehydration and excessive NH3 (making more BUN because of the elevated NH3).

NH3: elevated 2o to blood in the gut being digested by bacteria and releasing NH3 . The NH3 is absorbed across the mucosa and increases blood ammonia.

WBC: slightly elevated 2o to GG's stress.
