Answer to Question 1

Lantus, or glargine insulin, is known as a background insulin. It is injected once a day, the same time each day, and lasts for 24 hours. Its advantage is that it does not peak like humalin N or R insulins and can be used with other insulins, causing smaller doses of the other insulins to be used. This could possibly help reduce the instances of insulin reactions but does not work for everyone.

Answer to Question 2
