The effect of meals on blood glucose level is determined using self-monitoring of blood glucose levels. Glycosylated hemoglobin level does not show day-to-day variations in blood glucose level. Iron deficiency anemia is diagnosed by measuring total hemoglobin level in patients with and without diabetes.
