Someone who drinks 1-2 drinks per day is considered a moderate drinker. A heavy drinker con-sumes 3 or more drinks daily. A light drinker is not defined. Alcoholism is a disabling addictive dependence on alcohol, usually characterized by intake of significantly more than 1-2 drinks daily.
