Answer to Question 1

1

Rationale: Protein-energy wasting is the term used to describe malnutrition in dialysis patients. Fat catabolism is the use of fat for energy in states of starvation. Metabolic acidosis results from an increase in pH which causes protein catabolism and decreased synthesis of albumin. Dry weight refers to the client's post-dialysis weight which reflects a true weight since excess fluid accumulation has been removed.

Answer to Question 2

B
Feedback:
Weight loss diets with 25 to 30 protein may provide greater satiety.
