Answer to Question 1

2
Rationale: The National Cholesterol Education Program recommends that < 7 of total daily caloric intake consists of saturated fat, following the recommendation of TLC. The primary goal of TCL is the control of LDL cholesterol using a multifactorial lifestyle approach.

Answer to Question 2

C
Adults can help promote good eating habits in adolescents by creating guidelines for dietary pat-terns and providing appropriate food choices. Simply discussing reasons for good food choices provides education without tools. Designing menus and providing only these foods does not teach adolescents to make good choices on their own. Modeling good food behaviors and allow-ing adolescents to make their own choices does not provide sufficient guidance.
