Answer to Question 1

A
Feedback:
In the United States, marasmus occurs secondary to chronic diseases such as cancer, AIDS, and chronic pulmonary disease. Kwashiorkor occurs secondary to an acute incidence like a trauma. Affluence and protein quality are not associated with marasmus.

Answer to Question 2

Feedback:
Clients may be advised to increase their intake of pure sugars and pure fats to meet their calorie requirements. Their protein allowance should be spread out through the day and consist more of animal sources than plant. They should also limit their grains and vegetable intakes.
